Home/ There’s A Beauty / Chapter 87 (Part 1)
Although the Seventh Prince was partially paralyzed, he did not become a useless person. He took care of all his daily chores, including bathing and dressing, and thus developed a pair of extremely strong arms. You Shu watched with mixed emotions as his master crawled out of the bathtub, slowly wiping his unconscious legs clean, and then ordered the eunuch to come in and pour water.
“Do I look scary like this?” He asked, pretending to be relaxed, pointing to his extremely pale and thin legs that were already showing signs of atrophy.
You Shu squatted beside the screen and looked at him. After hearing this, he immediately shook his head and let out a very low hum, feeling extremely distressed.
“Are you about to cry?” The Seventh Prince took the puppy into his arms, rubbed its furry head with his cheek, and nudged its wet nose with the tip of his nose, comforting him, “Don’t be sad, everything will be fine.”
You Shu hummed twice, casually placing a front paw on his master’s wrist, secretly checking his pulse. It had been many years since the master was poisoned. Judging from the pulse, this body is very weak, and even a simple cold could kill him.
However, You Shu didn’t know what kind of poison it was, so there was no way to concoct the corresponding antidote. The general antidote wouldn’t be very effective and could only treat the symptoms rather than the root cause.
The more important question is, how does a little dog prepare, grab, and boil medicine? With these four fat and short paws?
You Shu raised his paws and stared at the pink and fleshy pads, feeling as if there was no love left in his life.
But the Seventh Prince was very fond of its little paws, he immediately kneaded them a few times, then brought them to his lips and kissed them.
Be serious, I’m thinking about something! You Shu stepped on him with his legs, but what he got in return was a series of low laughter.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve heard Xiao Qi smile so happily.” Concubine Hui slowly walked into the hall, breaking the warm and harmonious atmosphere between the master and his beloved pet.
The Seventh Prince’s expression remained unchanged, but his eyes darkened for a moment. He felt the little guy in his palm become stiff, and then its fur exploded. He quickly covered its little mouth and patted its butt gently.
You Shu didn’t know how to hide his emotions. He would always show his dislike on his face. After becoming a dog, he became even more clear about love and hate, wishing he could pounce on Concubine Hui and bite her to death. But he knew that his master was hiding his strength and biding his time, so he turned his back and pointed his butt towards the other party, turning a blind eye.
Concubine Hui didn’t notice the surging tides between the two. She sat next to her son and gently stroked the hair on the back of his head, sighing, “Just now, Mufei asked you to give the little dog to your brother, not because she was biassed, but because she thought you didn’t like cats and dogs. Mufei thought that you couldn’t refuse because of your father’s strong love. That’s why she said this. But now it seems that Mufei was wrong. You have a good relationship with the little dog and have become much happier, so your mother can rest assured. Don’t think too much, Mufei still loves you the most. This summer, I will go to Zhenguo Temple to meditate for a month, and pray to the Buddha to manifest and make you stand up again.”
Concubine Hui is always like this, giving a sweet jujube with a stick, not wanting to put in any effort, but also wanting others to remember her kindness. In fact, doesn’t her so-called ‘meditate for a month and pray to Buddha’ for herself? It was just to please the Empress Dowager, who believed deeply in Buddhism.
It was precisely because of her “motherly heart” and “devout faith” that the Empress Dowager looked at her with admiration and entrusted her with the power to control the palace, while the Empress became a decoration. After figuring it all out, the Seventh Prince understood everything. He used to feel heartbroken due to Concubine Hui’s cold treatment, but now he felt more sad than heartbroken.
He smiled lightly and began to act, “How can I blame Mufei for her words? Ever since this son was poisoned, I’ve really dragged you down, causing you to run around to seek medical treatment for this son, suffering unbearably…”
“What are you talking about? We are all a family, how can you use the word ‘drag’? As long as you can get well, Mufei is willing to sacrifice ten years of her life.” Concubine Hui hugged her son in her arms, her voice sorrowful. Several palace maids next to them also had red eyes and shed tears.
The Seventh Prince felt that he was not being hugged by his mother, but wrapped around a venomous snake, with a cold and sticky touch that made him nauseous. After finally seeing off the other party, he immediately took off his outer robe and wiped his cheeks, neck, hands, and other areas with a handkerchief, clearly feeling disgusted.
On the other hand, You Shu stood on his two legs, barking fiercely in the direction where Concubine Hui had left, and then spat in a very humane manner.
“Where did you learn this move?” The Seventh Prince immediately forgot the uncomfortable feeling and asked with raised eyebrows.
From Ou Tai, your fourth prison master. You Shu barked twice.
“Although it’s a bit vulgar, it’s very cute.” The Seventh Prince was amused by it and quickly forgot about those bad things. One master and one pet climbed onto the bed, played with each other for a while, and then fell asleep hugging each other.
The next day, the Seventh Prince hid his robe at the bottom of the bookcase, preparing to take it to the study. His belongings are all taken care of by himself, and eunuchs and palace maids only need to deliver meals and pour hot water, making the work very easy.
You Shu was lying on the table, his head buried in the porcelain bowl, nibbling at the dog food that tasted very strange, looking lifeless. He secretly glanced at his master and saw that the other party was focused on eating the porridge, so he stretched out a front paw and touched the steamed dumplings.
“How many times have I told you, you can’t eat this.” The Seventh Prince pinched his little paw at the last moment when he was just about to succeed.
You must have done it on purpose! If I can’t eat it, then don’t put it here. Why did you put it on the dining table? I am human and I can eat anything! You Shu barked at his master and nibbled on his fingers with his pointed baby teeth.
The Seventh Prince laughed really hard in his heart but he didn’t show anything on his face. He scratched the little guy’s fat and short chin and said comfortingly, “Be good, don’t make trouble.”
Give me a bite? Just a bite? You Shu tilted his head and stared at his master with wet black eyes, his expression extremely pitiful.
Unable to bear the intense gaze, the Seventh Prince had to raise one hand to block his face to avoid being tempted, but his ear tips slowly turned red.
Upon seeing this, You Shu’s eyes became even more wet. He blocked the left side and then circled to the right, continuing to stare. After blocking the right side, he circled to the left again, refusing to give up no matter what.
The Seventh Prince raised both of his hands and covered his face, sighing softly. God, having a coquettish pet is such a sweet burden. Give it to eat, worry about it getting sick, don’t give it to eat, then feel sorry for it in your heart.
“Xiao Shunzi, Xiao Shunzi!” The Seventh Prince finally compromised and called the little eunuch waiting outside, ordering, “You Shu likes to eat vegetables. From now on, you don’t need to prepare these dog foods, just make some suitable dishes for him. The richer the better, and follow the same regulations when cooking food for this palace.”
The little eunuch was overjoyed and answered ‘yes’ repeatedly. After he retreated, You Shu happily snorted twice, then pounced on his master’s face, licking all the remaining gravy from the corner of his mouth.
The Seventh Prince was both angry and amused, and even felt hot all over from being licked. He quickly pressed the little guy into his arms and gently slapped its buttocks twice.
After eating, the master and pet went to the compartment to solve their physiological problems. The Seventh Prince could use the bucket and chamber pot by himself and didn’t need anyone else to serve him. After fastening his belt, he stared at You Shu who was squatting on the small bucket, his eyes full of interest. You Shu had already raised his buttocks, and he was just waiting for his master to leave.
He barked twice, but when he saw that the other party didn’t respond, he raised his front paws and made a gesture to chase people away.
“You do it, I’ll be watching from the side.” The Seventh Prince suppressed his laughter.
You Shu blushed with shame, he kept barking and waving his paws, and upon feeling that he couldn’t hold it in any longer, he immediately ran into the inner room and grabbed a handkerchief.
“What do you want to do?” The Seventh Prince’s voice was a little strange.
You Shu ignored him and put the handkerchief on his head, forming a small tent. With the cover of the tent, he finally solved his physiological problem. Then he sat on the handkerchief and rubbed against it, as if wiping his butt. Anyway, there are palace maids coming to wash this thing, so it’s fine.
Seeing You Shu wrinkling his nose and running away, the Seventh Prince finally burst out laughing. He thanked heaven countless times for sending You Shu to him at such a desperate and difficult time. If it weren’t for You Shu’s company, he wouldn’t know if he could still laugh and face everyone in the Shuangxue Palace and Ganquan Palace with a calm and indifferent attitude. Perhaps he would set everything on fire and burn away all evil.
You Shu stopped as soon as he reached the steps. He turned left and right but didn’t dare to go down. The steps are five or six metres high. At first glance, they look like a cliff. He had to squat on the ground and wait for his master whose bad taste hadn’t diminished at all.
Just at this moment, a white-bearded old ghost floated by and said in surprise, “Little friend, how did you fall for the evil of livestock farming?”
“Can you see that I’m a human?” You Shu was overjoyed.
“I’ve been dead for five or six hundred years, and I haven’t seen any demons and monsters before. Little friend, why are you still staying in the palace? Go out and find the person who casted the spell and break it.” The old ghost was just asking casually, not expecting him to hear it. Unexpectedly, the other party not only could hear it but also communicate with himself. The old ghost was equally happy and kindly reminded him.
“Since she clearly wanted to harm me, why would she be willing to break it for me? Old man, do you know how to break it?”
“It’s very simple, just drink the blood of the person who casted the spell.” The old ghost finally met someone he could chat with, so he didn’t plan to go anywhere else and followed You Shu step by step.
He saw You Shu being held in the arms of the Seventh Prince with great care, rubbing and kissing here and there, so he suddenly said, “It’s better to be a rich dog rather than a poor human. No wonder you are not in a hurry to regain your human body. It turns out you are greedy and at ease in the palace. You are also lucky to have turned into a Zangxiu dog instead of any other animal. Otherwise, you would have already been sold to the countryside to plough the fields. Those days are really miserable, you can’t eat enough, you can’t sleep well, you get whipped every day, and when you are almost exhausted, you will be slaughtered and eaten.”
You Shu was filled with fear, but he didn’t forget to retort, “I am not greedy for wealth and comfort. The Seventh Prince and I have been tied together for three lifetimes, and I originally wanted to repay his kindness. By the way, do you know what dynasties were there before Dayan Kingdom?”
The old ghost has been wandering in the world for hundreds of years, naturally having a wide range of knowledge. He told about the things he has experienced like a story, and the more he talked, the more enthusiastic he became.
Only then did You Shu realise that this was no longer the world where the Dayong Kingdom existed, and the scene of “heaven’s fall” really occurred. However, he and his master luckily broke through the space barrier and came to another world, surviving successfully.
It turns out that the thirty three heavens really exist, so the three thousand big worlds and the three thousand small worlds must also be around. You Shu looked up at the sky, as if searching for a parallel world in the same spatial dimension, only to see a huge palm covering his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose.
“Have you not eaten enough? You’ve been in a daze all morning.” The Seventh Prince was not accustomed to his pet’s quiet appearance.
