Home/ There’s A Beauty / Chapter 98 (Part 2)
Emperor Jing saw a blurry figure from a distance, as if standing. Before he could be surprised, he saw the figure kneeling down again, with both hands propped up on the ground, as if feeling very uncomfortable. A man in white ran over to help, faintly calling out for the master.
“Can Lao Qi stand up? Can Lao Qi stand up again?” Deng Chaoshan had already told him that the toxins in Lao Qi’s body had been removed. The reason why Lao Qi could not stand up was because his legs had been disabled for more than ten years, and he had lost his belief and courage to stand up again. If you are lucky and managed to create a situation where he is stimulated to the point of collapse, there may still be hope during the violent turmoil; if you are unlucky and cannot find the corresponding opportunity, he will be paralyzed for life.
Obviously, his own imminent death was that corresponding opportunity. This shows how much Lao Qi cares about his father’s safety. Moved to tears,Emperor Jing quickly ran towards the person who had been kneeling beside the fence for a long time.
Seeing their father’s expression of surprise, the Crown Prince and Prince Su looked as if they had eaten shit.
“Imperial Brother, what should we do now? Not only has the father been saved, but the person who saved him was Lao Qi. Lao Qi is a cripple, but he can still drag us through the mud. If he gets better, where will there be a place for us in the court?” The Crown Prince was furious, but on the surface, he still had to show a worried and joyful expression.
“Who knows whether he will be able to stand up permanently or if it was just for a moment? Let’s deal with it first. You are already the Crown Prince now, and it is impossible for the father to abolish you and replace you with Lao Qi. Don’t forget, he also has a twin brother staying well in Cold Spring Palace.” Prince Su patted the Crown Prince on the shoulder and comforted him in a low voice.
After such a big event, the horse racing festival was naturally cancelled. Emperor Jing ordered people to carry Lao Qi to Qianqing Palace for resettlement and urgently summoned Deng Chaoshan to examine him.
When Deng Chaoshan was examining people in the inner hall, Emperor Jing had already inquired about the whole story from the guards, and even the reactions of the people were not ignored. Fortunately, these imperial guards were well-trained, and in the state of panic, they still didn’t forget to observe and listen in all directions. They emphasised the deliberate actions of Prince Ti and Prince Su to prevent them from rescuing people.
Not being able to save the monarch is a capital offence, so in order to save their lives, the guards must completely throw the blame on someone else. As expected, Emperor Jing forgot to hold the guards accountable and slapped the table in a rage, ordering them to immediately control the racetrack and conduct a thorough investigation.
At this moment, Deng Chaoshan appeared and arched his hand, saying, “Reporting to His Majesty, Prince Duan suddenly stood up and drew a strong bow, so he has now fallen asleep due to exhaustion. This place is too noisy, why not have someone send him back to Prince Duan’s mansion?”
Emperor Jing walked into the inner hall and saw that his son was indeed not sleeping soundly, so he ordered someone to send him back.
After sending him away, Emperor Jing asked Deng Chaoshan, “Can Lao Qi really stand up?”
“Prince Duan was stimulated today. If he practises more in the future, he should be able to stand up. But to be able to walk freely, I’m afraid it will take four or five years of training.”
“Well, I can afford to wait for four or five years. Not only can I afford it, but it’s exactly what I want. Emperor Jing was pacing back and forth in the hall.
Suddenly, he held his forehead and sighed, “Lao Ba! I almost forgot about Lao Ba! Deng Chaoshan, quickly send a cup of poisoned wine to Cold Spring Palace.”
At the same time, the Seventh Prince, who was lying in the imperial palace, opened his eyes. He held You Shu’s fingertips and whispered, “I didn’t kill Boren, but Boren died because of me. What should come will eventually come.”
(I didn’t kill Boren, but Boren died because of me= Although I hated Boren, I didn’t intend to kill him. But Boren died because of my hatred, and his death was indirectly related to me. —From ‘Book of Jin’)
“What you sow, you will reap. If he didn’t force you, you wouldn’t show your edge. If you didn’t show your edge, you wouldn’t get the emperor’s attention. If you didn’t get the emperor’s attention, you wouldn’t leave Shuangxue Palace and enter the court. Step by step, it was all his fault, and he should bear the consequences.” You Shu muttered like a dedicated daughter-in-law.
“Alright, I understand.” The Seventh Prince smiled, pulled the person into his arms, turned over, and kissed him.
Half a month later, the once proud Crown Prince was imprisoned for the crime of regicide, while his brother Prince Su was demoted to a commoner and his family property was confiscated. After several turmoil, at the suggestion of all his cabinet ministers, Emperor Jing appointed his seventh son, Prince Duan, as the Crown Prince, who then entered the palace to assist in government affairs.
Fifty years later, Qianqing Palace.
You Shu placed his master’s legs on his own and massaged them inch by inch along the ankles. Even if the master stood up again, some toxins were still left in his bones. The master didn’t feel it much when he was young, but as he grew old, he developed many sequelae, and on rainy days, he suffered from unbearable pain.
The Seventh Prince, no, he should be called Emperor Daoguang now, stretched out his wrinkled hand and removed the disguise on You Shu’s face, revealing a beautiful and unparalleled face. Even though fifty years have passed, even though he is so old and on the verge of death, You Shu has not changed at all. He is still the same as when he first met the person, pure and innocent, with clear eyes. When the merciless years made everyone grow older, they seemed to be particularly tolerant of him.
A huge sense of fear swept over his heart, making Emperor Daoguang’s eyes turn red. He slowly took You Shu into his arms and caressed his back, as if crying and sighing, “What will you do when I die?” Who would care if you are cold or warm? Who would care whether you are happy or sad? Who would turn the pages of the book and slowly tell you a story when you are lonely? However, no matter what, that person will never be him again.
“I don’t know either!” You Shu’s voice slightly trembled. When he found that his body didn’t age, but his master was getting older little by little, he seemed to be abandoned in the long river of time, floating and sinking upside down, feeling endless despair.
He has waited for so many lives, but he is no longer sure whether they can meet again in the next life. Seeing his master turn into decaying bones and dust before his own eyes, dissipating between heaven and earth, feels no less than letting him experience death himself. In the future decades, centuries, or even thousands of years after his master passed away, how would he survive the heart-breaking loneliness and pain?
You Shu almost didn’t dare to think about it, but he would always think of it unintentionally and tremble all over.
Feeling the person in his arms trembling, Emperor Daoguang quickly patted his back and whispered in a hoarse voice, “Don’t be afraid, You Shu, otherwise you and I…” He paused, as if cutting out the second half of the sentence from his bleeding heart, “Will you come with me?”
You Shu nodded without hesitation, but before that day came, he fell asleep first, and his body emitted a faint light in the moonlight, like a holy sculpture.
In this regard, Emperor Daoguang was only satisfied and had no regrets. He originally thought that no matter what, he would live one day longer than You Shu, so that You Shu wouldn’t have to bear the pain of his lover’s passing alone. When You Shu was alive, Emperor Daoguang hoped that he would be safe and happy, and when he died, he also hoped that his You Shu would be free from all worries.
After carrying the person into the crystal coffin, sealing the outer layers of the coffin, and spending several years building a magnificent underground mausoleum to prevent others from disturbing You Shu’s sleep, Emperor Daoguang finally closed his eyes with satisfaction and was reborn into the future.
Six hundred years later, Jin State.
In a magnificent palace, there was a sudden burst of mournful wails, and several anxious voices came together to comfort. One could vaguely hear the words “Master, please don’t hurt your body.
Entering the main hall from the cloister, you will see a gold-plated plaque hanging on the beam, with the large characters “Yingyue Palace” written on it. This is the dormitory of the Concubine Yue from the Dou family, the most beloved woman of the Jin Emperor. She is also said to be the most beautiful woman in the whole Jin Dynasty. After just a brief encounter, the emperor was fascinated by her. Unable to forget her, he took her into the palace with forceful means, and from then on, she became his most favourite.
However, this beautiful woman also had moments of panic and helplessness. Her three-year-old son was poisoned to death by a certain concubine. The palace maid comforted the woman and said that she was going to report to the emperor, but was held back forcefully, “Don’t go! I still have a way, yes, I still have a way!”
She picked up her son, opened a secret door in the back hall and entered the underground palace. The candles in the underground palace ignited without fire, illuminating her path forward. At the end of the underground palace was a ten feet high wall, with various blue-masked fanged ghosts carved on it. In the middle was the sculpture of a black-masked man holding a brush in his hand, pointing at one of the ghost kings. The ghost king knelt down and bowed, with a fearful expression on his face, and the surrounding ghosts turned around one after another, as if wanting to escape.
In front of these lifelike sculptures, the woman’s firm expression finally collapsed, showing a bit of shock. She took a deep breath, then gently placed her son on the ground, kowtowing to the black-masked man on the wall. One, two, three, four… she kowtowed for several quarters of an hour, until her forehead was red and swollen, bleeding constantly.
Finally, after she finished knocking her head two hundredth times, the sculpture of the black-masked man solidified and floated down from the wall. He asked in a deep voice, “What do you want again?”
“I beg the Immortal Master to save my child!” The woman cried bitterly.
“This seat is the judge of the underworld, you should know that. We can only evoke souls, not save lives. This seat has already warned you when we replaced your head with the head of a peerless beauty. This head belonged to a courtesan by the Qinhuai River from five hundred years ago, who had a lowly life. By using her things, you have acquired her bad faith. Even if you are favored for a while, it won’t last long. The child you gave birth to is also a short-lived ghost. It’s all because of your obsession and unwillingness to accept your fate. Now you have come here to ask for something again. What’s the use of that?” The man flicked his sleeves and turned around.(This seat— used by a person sitting in a high position with authority to refer to himself.)
Concubine Yue took out a golden wolf hair from her arms and begged, “If the Immortal Master can save my son, I will return the sacred artefact that you gave to our ancestors in perfect condition.”
The man turned his head suddenly, his expression twisting several times. After a while, he took back the wolf hair and sighed, “Alright, this seat will help you one last time. There is a body here that can accommodate your son’s soul, so let’s use the Soul Shifting Technique.”
“Whose body is it?” Concubine Yue asked anxiously. After all, her son is a nobleman. How can his soul be transferred to a corpse from wild graves?
The man sneered, “You don’t have to feel that you have been insulted. To say something unpleasant, it’s your lowly son’s fate that would truly harm this body by being part of it. This person was from the royal family of Dayan six hundred years ago, surrounded by the aura of the Zi Wei Emperor. Your son was destined to die young, let alone having the fate of the true dragon emperor. If you use this body, you can turn things upside down and achieve great treasures in the future. If it weren’t for the fact that my yin-yang enlightenment brush is the most precious treasure in the world and must be exchanged with the most precious treasure to solve the cause and effect, I wouldn’t have taken it out.”
The woman was overjoyed and kowtowed repeatedly.
The man disappeared for a moment, and when he reappeared, he was holding a shimmering “corpse” in his hand. The woman only glanced at it and was immediately attracted by the beautiful face, then she said in surprise, “Immortal Master, he seems to be much older than my son, when you use magic that can make others forget my son’s previous appearance, can you also let them ignore his age?”
“What do you know? This seat has a bottle of yellow spring water here that can trace back the time. When we feed him this, he will turn into a three-year-old child.”
Then the man took out a bottle of water and poured it into the mouth of the “corpse”. When it shrunk to the size of a three-year-old child, he began to perform the soul-shifting technique and then carried away the other body that had lost its soul.
“Mufei, I’m hungry.” The child lying on the ground slowly opened his eyes and smiled.

noooooooooo is the soul replaced??? so does that mean that you shu’s body is no longer his???
-
I think it’s the other way around?
You Shu’s soul was either put in the baby’s body or left in his original shell and the dead baby’s “fate” was transferred to You Shu?
I dont quite understand this passage:
[ ..it shrunk to the size of a three-year-old child, he began to perform the soul-shifting technique and then carried away the other body that had lost its soul.]🤔
