Chapter 90 (Part 2) – There’s A Beauty

Home/ There’s A Beauty / Chapter 90 (Part 2)

Being awarded the title of Prince at the tender age of thirteen, it was still the first of its kind in the Dayan Kingdom. Upon hearing the news, Concubine Hui was so angry that she vomited blood. The Eighth Prince also received congratulations from the other princes who seemed to be sincere but actually trying to make the matter worse.

In anger, he smashed an inkstone, causing Taifu to shake his head in disappointment. With such a character, I am afraid that he can’t even compare to a finger of His Highness the Seventh Prince.

Concubine Hui gave up a legendary talent like Lao Qi and instead chose a crooked melon and cracked jujube like Lao Ba. Concubine Hui was really blind! Ouyang Tao came to Ganquan Palace again and scolded his younger sister. He wished he could cut off Lao Ba’s legs and put them on Lao Qi’s body.

However, he doesn’t dare to do anything now, only because Lao Ba’s reckless actions have already aroused Emperor Jing’s suspicion, and the Ouyang family may have to stay dormant for a long time before they can find a way out.

The once bustling Shuangxue Palace was now deserted, while the Guangling Palace was bustling with visitors. The princes took a fancy to Lao Qi’s intelligence and holy favour, coming to win him over one after another.

On this day, the Fourth Prince presented a memorial in the name of visiting his sick brother. As soon as he stepped through the palace door, he shouted, “Imperial brother, fourth brother is here to see you.”

“Fourth Brother, please sit down. I’m preparing to have a meal. Have you eaten yet?” The Seventh Prince spoke while tying a special bib around You Shu’s neck and scratching his short and fat chin. You Shu raised his head and let out a comfortable hum, his appearance looking very funny. His injuries have already healed and his snow-white fur has grown back, looking even more adorable than before.

The Fourth Prince laughed loudly, “Brother, you actually made a bib for it? You really put your heart into it. I haven’t eaten yet, so let’s have a meal together.”

“Brother, you don’t need to be polite, Xiao Shunzi, go to the imperial kitchen and ask them to add more dishes.” The Seventh Prince picked up the handkerchief and wiped You Shu’s pink paws clean one by one, saying with a smile, “You Shu loves to be clean, if the soup gets on his body while eating, he will definitely beg me to help him take a bath. The weather is much cooler now, and it is easy to catch a cold if you take too many baths.” He pinched one of his paws and kissed him hard several times.

The Fourth Prince had never seen Lao Qi’s gentle side before, and couldn’t help but feel a bit stunned.

After a while, several palace maids brought the extra dishes one by one, served the rice to the Fourth Prince, and then withdrew in succession. The Seventh Prince pointed to some of the dishes and reminded, “Brother, these dishes belong to You Shu and me, and the taste is very bland. I’m afraid you are not used to it.”

“Does my brother and this dog eat the same dishes?” The Fourth Prince was shocked again.

The Seventh Prince smiled without saying anything. Seeing You Shu twisting his small buttocks and walking towards a plate of boiled chicken, he immediately picked up a chicken leg for him. The chicken leg was too thick and he was worried that You Shu wouldn’t be able to bite it, so he used his own teeth to tear the chicken into small strips and feed it to him.

Unexpectedly, the meal was served a bit late today, and You Shu was already very hungry. So he immediately pounced on him, rolled out the chicken he had bitten into his mouth with the tip of his pink tongue, and finally licked the soup clean from the other party’s mouth.

Seeing his pet licking his mouth and snatching food from himself, Lao Qi, who originally liked cleanliness very much, didn’t dislike it at all. Instead, he opened his mouth to hold the puppy’s tongue, with joy and tenderness in his eyes. The Fourth Prince couldn’t help but be surprised, and then looked away, feeling slightly embarrassed.

“Seventh Brother, won’t it be unclean for you to eat with him?” He reminded in a low voice.

“You Shu loves to be clean.” The Seventh Prince didn’t take it seriously and held You Shu in his arms. He fed him one bite at a time, occasionally lowering his head to kiss the tip of his nose and mouth, with a smile on his face.

Looking at the master and pet being too clingy, the Fourth Prince felt extremely uncomfortable. He had never seen anyone take such good care of a dog. Lao Qi doesn’t seem to be raising a pet, but rather a son! As he pondered over Lao Qi’s preferences, he ate absentmindedly and unknowingly finished two bowls.

Over there, You Shu was also full. He was lying on his master’s lap, patting his round belly with his little paws, asking for a rub. The Seventh Prince let out a low smile, he first wiped his oily mouth with a handkerchief, then untied his bib, and then slowly started rubbing its belly.

Lao Qi is not good at walking and must be very lonely at ordinary times. No wonder he has such a precious pet. The Fourth Prince finally determined his brother’s preferences and waited for the palace maid to take away the dishes before gently clapping his hands and ordering the attendants outside the palace to enter. The attendant brought in several large boxes filled with precious medicinal herbs, and another person carried a golden-wired cage forward.

Upon hearing the noise, You Shu, who was about to fall asleep, immediately opened his eyes and looked over. However, he saw a half-foot long Shih Tzu dog in the cage, with extremely smooth and shiny hair, and a small bun tied with red silk on top of its head, looking very outstanding. His heart tightened and he immediately turned on his belly and jumped up, barking at Shih Tzu. The master cannot have any more puppies around him, especially those that are even cuter than himself!!

“Don’t you feel ashamed to compete with a dog?” The old ghost floated in from the window.

You Shu ignored him and continued to bark, causing the hair all over his body to explode. The little Shih Tzu was scared and shrank into the corner.

The Fourth Prince wondered, “Brother, what’s wrong with You Shu? Does my dog have a bad smell?” Except for fighting dogs, the puppies in the Cat and Dog House have been strictly trained, and they will never bite each other.

He is jealous. The Seventh Prince knew it in his heart, but he didn’t show anything on his face. He smiled and said, “Don’t worry about him, he always makes trouble when he is full. Fourth Brother, your dog is very cute. What is its name?”

The fourth prince was secretly delighted and took out the puppy, explaining, “This Shih Tzu was brought back from the south by someone I asked. Its bloodline is very pure, and the manager of the Cat and Dog House also checked it and found no illnesses. I heard that you like puppies, so I just thought of sending it here. By the way, the servants who trained it said that it is extremely smart, can understand human speech, and can count. How about letting it perform for you?”

So magical? You Shu’s sense of crisis increased and he asked the old ghost, “Old man, quickly see if it is also a human who was tricked into the evil of livestock farming.”

“No, it’s just an ordinary puppy. Speaking of it, you are carrying the Ziwei Imperial Qi on your body and you were supposed to be a leader. How could you be reduced to such a state where you are neither a human nor a dog? Your fate is too strange.”

You Shu couldn’t tell him that his master was Zi Wei Emperor Star, so he could only pretend not to hear. As the two were talking, little Shih Tzu had been put on the table by the Fourth Prince, along with several numbered wooden signs placed in front of it. The fourth prince took out two numbers and asked, “Tell my brother, what is two plus two?”

The little Shih Tzu sniffed at the remaining wooden plaque and quickly took out one of them, which read ‘four’. The Fourth Prince was very proud and asked how much three and two were equal, and it again came up with the correct answer. This kind of thing was rarely seen by ancient people, and naturally felt supernatural. However, You Shu knew that it was just a conditioned reflex after long training.

However, the master seemed to be really fascinated, and even wanted to hold the little Shih Tzu, while praising it continuously. This time, You Shu was really furious. He made a threatening sound in his throat, jumped up on the table along her master’s knees, and slapped his restless hands away. The Seventh Prince went to hug the Shih Tzu again, but he(ys) slapped it away with his paw again.

As the Seventh Prince repeated this, You Shu got really angry, he grabbed the other party’s sleeve and tore it from side to side, with two balls of flame coming out of his dark eyes.

The Fourth Prince finally came back to his senses and exclaimed, “Brother, is it possible that You Shu is jealous?”

“It should be.” The Seventh Prince laughed secretly in his heart until he got internal injuries, but he didn’t show it on his face. He reached out to hug the Shih Tzu again, but You Shu bit his thumb and climbed onto his arm with all four fat and short claws, causing a fierce fight.

“Fourth Brother, you see, You Shu is so jealous that he doesn’t allow me to hold other dogs. If I keep this Shih Tzu, I don’t know how angry he will be. He once saved my life and I can’t do without him. Brother, you better take this Shih Tzu back and raise it by yourself.” The Seventh Prince declined politely.

Only then did You Shu let go of his arm, he stretched out the tip of his tongue and licked the tooth mark on the thumb. His nose wrinkled as he let out a whining sound in grievance.

Just now, the Fourth Prince thought that his Shih Tzu dog was very powerful, but when he looked at You Shu, whose expressions and movements were extremely human, he realized that there was a huge difference between the two.  Anyone who is treated as the whole world by another little life will inevitably be moved, let alone a person like Lao Qi who values love and righteousness. He didn’t feel embarrassed and smiled cheerfully before leaving with the little Shih Tzu.

After the crisis was over, You Shu ran to the pile of numbered wooden signs left by the Fourth Prince and kept slapping them with his paws, wanting to show off his high IQ.  Compared with a dog, he didn’t feel ashamed at all. He just hoped that his master could love him and value him more.

The Seventh Prince put his fist to his lips and tried hard to suppress laughter. The old ghost lying on the beam also joked, “I’m getting more and more suspicious of your origins. To be honest, you weren’t tricked into the evil of livestock farming at all. You were originally a dog spirit, right? Look at your dog-like actions!”  “

You Shu ignored him. Instead, he stuck out half of his tongue and barked at his master. However, the other party picked him up and kissed him, saying softly, “You are very good, there’s no need to perform. I know you are the smartest puppy in the world. I was teasing you just now, and I never thought about adopting a Shih Tzu. You are enough for me, I don’t need anyone else.”

You Shu’s furry tail swayed wildly, and he rubbed his master’s tall nose with his baby teeth to express his joy.

The old ghost waited until the master and the pet finished being sticky enough before saying slowly, “I’m here to tell you two pieces of news. First, the Empress Dowager’s brother Duke Jing has entered the palace, and they should be messing around in the Buddhist hall at this moment. Second, your master’s antidote has been prepared. After taking it, you can massage his legs by following the method I taught you.”

You Shu was overjoyed and said decisively, “You cast a spell to let my master sleep first so that I can take the opportunity to leave. You can keep the antidote for now and I will feed it to him after coming back. Let’s go to Shuangxue Palace.”

The old ghost agreed, and with a slight tap of his fingertips, the Seventh Prince fell asleep.

You Shu slid along the corner of his robe to the ground, and asked the old ghost to cover him with a thick quilt. With the help of the smokescreen, he successfully avoided the passersby and left the Guangling Palace.
