Chapter 80 – The Demon King Took Off His Little Horns

Home/ The Demon King Took Off His Little Horns/ Chapter 80

Saros, who can meow, is hundred percent cute in Ansel’s eyes!

Before he left, Ansel even used the excuse of escorting potatoes to follow Saros all the way to the luxurious car.

Just as His Majesty the Demon King was reluctantly getting into the car, he suddenly felt Ansel’s hand gently tugging at his clothes.

Saros’ heart tightened slightly. It was an overly sweet restraint, coming from the hand that barely exerted any force on the hem of his coat. He looked back and saw Ansel blinking at him with his beautiful sunset-colored eyes. The white hair was clumsily styled into the kind of braids he had braided for Ansel a few times before with bits of loose strands falling out, making him look especially adorable.

“I won’t be on duty tomorrow night.”

Saros heard the angel, who could even bewitch the demon, softly utter these words.

“Do you want to… do something bad and illegal with me?”

Saros: “…”

How wonderful! So what kind of bad and illegal things do you want to do with the Demon King of Lust?!

For a moment, he felt a little nervous.

“Then… where?” He asked as gently as possible, “My place, or yours?”

Ansel didn’t choose either, he simply replied.

“Neither, it’s the Demon Hunter Club!”

Is it going to be this exciting from the very beginning?! Then as the Demon King of lust himself, he definitely couldn’t lose!

Saros pondered for a moment.

“So, do I need to bring any props?”

He absolutely cannot lose!

Ansel raised his eyebrows in surprise, with a look of admiration on his face.

“Of course! Since you’re bringing them, then I don’t need to bring anything. Remember to bring two…”

Two, two! Two rounds?!

His Majesty the Demon King felt his heart rate skyrocketing, and it was still rising. He almost pricked up his ears, listening attentively to what little props Ansel wanted him to bring…

“Two small shovels, don’t forget.”

Saros: “…”

Shovels?

How do you play with that?

Ansel had everything sorted out and was in a very good mood. This guy, Saros… He’s such a kind demon, so considerate, and the other party can fully understand what he means. He really enjoys being with Saros! So for this interesting trip to the Demon Hunter Club, he’s also going to bring Saros with him!

Two people, two small shovels, one whole night, one happy journey.

“Then I’m going back to work first.” Ansel waved to Saros and turned around.

Although His Majesty the Demon King was still struggling with how to play with the shovel, seeing that Ansel was about to leave, he immediately forgot to ask about the use of the shovel and instead reminded him.

“Around here…”

“It’s okay. They should gather towards the convenience store.” Ansel understood his meaning and smiled. “When these monsters gather at the convenience store, we can catch them all at once instead of searching for each one individually.”

There haven’t been any monsters appearing near the convenience store for a long time. This area is considered a region where monsters have become extinct, and the monsters that have come here now are either migrating from other places or chasing after something. The target of their pursuit seems to be the single remaining creature in the convenience store.

—That little cat.

Ansel returned to the store and casually switched off the automatic door at the entrance to prevent it from opening and closing repeatedly when it sensed monsters. Ansel was secretly relieved; this convenience store was destined to suffer a disaster tonight, and it would be hard to guarantee that there won’t be a fight here. Luckily, he hadn’t taken over the store yet.

…Otherwise, he would be the one who has to pay for the repairs! What a sucker he would be!

The convenience store owner who is about to become a sucker: “???”

As soon as he entered the store, Ansel noticed that Joey had already let the little black cat out. The little cat wore a starry sky blue cat-eared witch hat, looking cute and lovely. It was running around the store, patrolling its territory. After the inspection, the little cat seemed very satisfied. With a meow, it jumped onto the cash register and squatted down, wrapping its tail around its paws.

Joey wiped the sweat from his forehead and said apologetically to Ansel.

“Ansel, the cat was meowing so pitifully in the back, I couldn’t help it, so I wanted to put a new can of food inside, but…”

Ansel nodded, indicating he understood; the cat must have escaped.

However, even after gaining her freedom, the little black cat wearing the witch’s hat didn’t seem to want to leave. Instead, it stayed in the store, and now it even began to calmly groom itself, occasionally raising its paws to play with the cat ears on the witch’s hat, licking its paws, and then doing the same again.

Jasmine was quite satisfied with this convenience store; it was suitable as her temporary shelter. In return, she could use her witch powers to do a divination for the two humans in front of her.

Thinking of this, the black cat leaped down to the shelves, stood up on its hind legs, and used its front paws to pull down a box of tarot cards from the shelf.

Seeing the little cat reach for the goods on the shelves, Joey widened his eyes and immediately rushed over to stop it.

“Good kitty… you can’t touch the goods.”

As soon as he shouted, the little cat glanced at him and calmly returned to the checkout counter with a box of tarot cards in its mouth.

“Charge it to my account,” Ansel said, taking out his magic mirror phone. “Looks like she wants this set of cards.”

That’s right, humans! The little black cat wearing the witch’s hat meowed proudly. As expected of her, Lady Jasmine, she could make humans do things according to her wishes just with her cat charm!

After paying the money, Ansel sat quietly and watched the little cat, wanting to see what she was going to do. As an angel, he could certainly understand the meows of the cat. But, well, he decided not to tell that this cat’s name is “Jasmine” for now.

Jasmine was completely unaware of Ansel’s thoughts. She simply used her sharp claws to open the box, without causing any damage to the cards inside. Then, an astonishing scene unfolded. In the dim light, the little black cat sitting in front of the cards looked solemn, the brim of the witch hat was slightly drooping, giving it an enigmatic and mysterious appearance. The tarot cards began to levitate and interlock in the air— it was an incredible card shuffling.

Some of the cards rose up, while others fell down. They were arranged in a grid pattern and eventually all merged into one stack. This stack was spread out in a fan shape in front of Ansel. The little cat proudly tilted its head, causing the witch hat on its head to tilt as well, which frightened her so much that she quickly steadied her head.

Draw a card, human! This is a chance to get a highly powerful and rare divination by a witch that you won’t find anywhere else!

This was also a novel experience for His Majesty the Demon King. Ansel drew a card, but the “spinning fan” still didn’t leave his sight, and the little cat meowed again.

“Meow meow!”

Draw another one! The first one was a general divination about oneself, serving as an introduction, but this one is a divination about the current situation!

Ansel drew another card, and Joey and the cat both poked their heads to look at his card. Unexpectedly, Ansel didn’t show the card at all and directly pushed the two cards back into the deck.

Witch’s divination– Ansel had read about it in the library of the Supreme Heaven, and it is said to be very effective. Ansel tried it just now and felt that the first card was accurate, but the interpretation of the second card left him a bit puzzled.

The first card, Ansel’s self-card, was labelled “Judgment”, depicting an angel blowing a trumpet in the sky, and the old world being reborn on the ground. Whether it’s the image of an angel or the yearning for revival and change, all corresponds to Ansel. However, the second card, the “status” card…

“Lovers”

He didn’t understand what it meant, so he decided to ask Saros to take a look next time.

Jasmine was so anxious that she’s jumping up and down. She didn’t even get a chance to interpret the cards! Why did you put it back? There are not many opportunities in a person’s life to get a witch’s divination, and asking the same question twice in a short period of time often doesn’t work. Ah, it’s really frustrating!

Wait, there’s another person here! Let him draw a card!

Joey also drew a card— “ace of swords”. It could be said that it was a perfect match. The little black cat cleared its throat and began to meow loudly, but Joey couldn’t understand a word. He could only look at the card and then at the cat.

But there was something about this card that Jasmine couldn’t quite figure out…

The little cat extended its paw under its hat and scratched its head.

It’s really rare for someone to draw the Ace of Swords as their self-card.

Suddenly, all the lights in the convenience store went out, plunging it into complete darkness. This all-too-familiar scene caused both Joey and Ansel to fall into a brief silence. After a while, Joey forced a smile, trying to lighten the mood.

“If things really went according to the original plan, footprints should have already appeared under the street lamps by now, right…haha…haha…”

Before he even finished speaking, a pair of blood-red footprints appeared under the streetlamp.

Words become reality!

History repeats itself!

Were these monsters all trained at the same domestic horror film training institution?!

Different from Joey and Ansel’s strange expressions, the fur on Jasmine’s back exploded. She arched her back, trying to make herself look bigger, her eyes fixed on the entrance of the convenience store.

She was so focused on rewarding the humans that she completely forgot that there were monsters still chasing after her. Now, the monsters that destroyed half the council have come knocking. Jasmine was not good at fighting, so she could only grit her teeth and fight to the death!

Run out! Lure them away! Not implicating innocent humans is the noble principle of the Silent Council!

Just as Jasmine was about to “meow loudly” and rush out to fight the monsters, she heard someone rummaging through things.

The little cat turned its head in confusion and saw Joey squatting under the cash register, with a copy of “Complete Collection of Chicken Soup Quotes for the Middle-aged and Elderly People” on his left and a copy of “Words of Wisdom from a Spiritual Mentor” on his right. Finally, he managed to find what he was looking for among the pile of miscellaneous items left by the morning shift employee, Rhein.

With a “thud”, a heavy object was placed on the cash register.

Ansel immediately closed his eyes, and with one hand, he pulled down the brim of the witch hat for the cat beside him.

Jasmine: “Meow? Meow meow meow?”

The next second, as if the sun had exploded in the dark night, the giant flashlight with forty-eight LED bulbs once again did its job, illuminating half the street in one breath!

“What a familiar scene, Joey,” Ansel sighed with his eyes closed, “It’s just that this time, it’s a bit different.”

“That’s natural, Ansel.”

They gradually adapted to the bright light and opened their eyes. Joey consciously rolled up his sleeves and began to stand upside down– his head facing down and his legs stretched straight upwards. It seems that he had been practicing for many days before achieving this effect.

Ansel: “…”

Ansel: “…What are you doing?”

“It’s to make it convenient… convenient for you to pull me out…” Joey’s voice was a little breathless; speaking while maintaining the handstand position for a long time was still a bit difficult for him.

Ansel’s composure was starting to crack.

“There’s no need to stand upside down! I can’t remember how to pull out the Holy Sword with you like this!”

“Huh? How could that be? Try grabbing my feet!”

“…”

I don’t know how to pull it out like this!!!

The monsters outside the convenience store were enraged by the light, howling as they lunged inside, shattering all the glass display windows and knocking over a large section of shelves near the entrance. The crashing and shattering sounds were deafening, making Ansel feel sorry for the wallet of the current owner of the convenience store.

Maybe they shouldn’t even bother repairing it; just let him redo the renovations.

At the critical moment, Ansel cleared his mind and instantly drew out the holy sword! A brilliant and dazzling light burst outwards, followed by a series of cries from Joey in Ansel’s mind—

【Hot, hot, hot, hot, hot!】

“I’ll finish this as quickly as possible, just bear with it.” Ansel said.

【But it’s so hot! Even hotter than the spicy hot pot!】Joey screamed.

“The more you tell bad jokes, the hotter it gets!”

To avoid roasting Joey for too long, Ansel acted very quickly. He leaped out of the shattered window and began clearing out the monsters surrounding the convenience store. More and more monsters fell, and those behind them felt fear and tried to retreat, but Ansel, with his holy sword drawn, clearly didn’t intend to let any of them escape.

The brilliant white light evenly obliterated all the enemies, and the white-haired warrior slew the last deformed monster. He lowered his sword, and his sunset-colored pupils shone brightly with a dazzling light.

The little black cat wearing a witch hat stood amidst the ruins of the convenience store window and watched the dazzling scene outside, slowly opening its little mouth wide…

Then, she became delighted.

It’s a warrior!

Meow! Jasmine has found a great savior!
