Home/ There’s A Beauty / Chapter 103 (Part 2)
While everyone was feeling complicated, You Shu’s eyelids gradually drooped, and he only managed to mutter, “It’s hot!” before fainting. Meng Changye then realized that his flushed cheeks weren’t due to the shyness, but due to a fever, and he immediately panicked.
“Liu Wen, come and take a look at the puppy! He’s sick!”
Liu Wen dared not neglect the person so dear to the general. He hurried over to check the pulse and shook his head, saying, “He caught a cold and has a slight fever. He needs to cool down quickly, or he’ll burn into a fool.”
“How do I cool him down?” Meng Changye’s eyes turned red as he muttered in self-blame. “It’s all my fault for pouring a few buckets of water on him just now. Otherwise, the puppy would still be fine. Even if I die of anger due to the dog emperor, I shouldn’t have touched a hair on his head. How could I have forgotten the difference between teaching him a lesson and teaching the puppy a lesson? Emperor Chun is a worthless creature who only remembers food but not punishment, and he caused my puppy to suffer as a result. If the puppy can really move him into a piece of wood, I will immediately burn him to ashes!”
Did you really believe Emperor Chun’s lies? Liu Wen raised an eyebrow, his eyes filled with surprise, but he didn’t argue. He patiently comforted him, “There’s no need to panic. A few doses of medicine will be enough. It’s not your fault, General. We ourselves still have to bathe in cold water in the middle of winter, and sometimes swimming laps in the frozen river feels so comfortable. Who could have imagined Ji Youshu was so frail, falling ill after just a few scoops of warm water? You must urge him to train hard in the future and not act like a weak chicken.”
Hearing that there was nothing serious, Meng Changye’s tense nerves finally relaxed. He coldly asked, “Who are you calling a weak chicken?”
Is that even a big deal? Liu Wen was dumbfounded. After a long moment, he sneered, “He’s a weak chicken, isn’t that right?”
“You are the weak chicken. Get out! Go get the medicine!” Meng Changye tucked the shivering boy into his arms and kicked Liu Wen.
The general had truly forgotten his brothers after having a beauty. Liu Wen left, shaking his head. The soldiers always carried provisions and medicinal herbs for emergencies; otherwise, in the middle of the night, Liu Wen wouldn’t even know where to find a pharmacy. He prescribed a simple fever-reducing medicine, boiling three bowls of water into one, and pried open the boy’s jaw to pour it down.
Meng Changye waited anxiously for his fever to subside, touching his forehead every so often, his worry overflowing in his eyes.
Although Chang Shun sat far away and couldn’t hear the conversation, he understood that the General seemed to have taken a fancy to his master. How could this happen? The dignified Emperor of Jin had become a male pet of a treacherous minister. Chang Sun thought he was doomed. If he were to die, Empress Dowager and the late Emperor would definitely be waiting for him in the underworld. He was really anxious, and seeing that the Emperor was ill, he wished he could grow wings and carry him away.
Emperor Chun had died once before, so the Empress Dowager had naturally protected him meticulously. As he grew up, he became even more fragile than thin porcelain. These few buckets of water would have been harmless for others, but they could have killed him. Moreover, Liu Wen only used common herbs, which were no match for the precious medicine available in the imperial palace. So, after half an hour, the fever didn’t get any better and only got worse.
“Oh no! The fever is getting worse!” Liu Wen shook his head after taking the pulse.
“You better think of a solution! Who said it wasn’t a big deal just now?” Meng Changye paced back and forth, holding the young man, who felt like a pot of burning charcoal. He felt the same way as Chang Shun, wishing he could fly to the nearest town and find the best doctor. However, there was no village or inn in sight, and even riding a horse for a few hours wouldn’t help; it would only make the condition worse.
“I’ll try increasing the dosage,” Liu Wen said, wiping his sweat.
“Hurry up!” Meng Changye kicked him hard.
Another bowl of thick and black medicinal concoction was boiled. Just as he was about to pour it in, Emperor Chun faintly regained consciousness, spewing bitter words while cursing in a hoarse voice, “Bah! Meng Changye, you want to poison me? I curse you to go to the eighteen levels of hell!”
Knowing that it was the dog emperor who woke up this time, Meng Changye didn’t have the same patience. He pinched his jaw and forced him to open his mouth, coldly commanding, “Drink this poison now, you bastard! If something happens to my puppy, I’ll skin you alive, even if it means giving up the treasure!”
Liu Wen also cooperated seamlessly, quickly pouring down the entire liquid, including the residue. This choked Emperor Chun, causing him to cough and almost suffocate. He cursed repeatedly, “You son of a bitch! You’re deliberately trying to harm me! You’ll die a miserable death…”
“What’s wrong with him? Just a moment ago, he was so obedient to the general like a puppy, but now he’s cursing and making a fuss. This is unbelievable. He’s courting death! We gave him the medicine out of kindness, and now it’s like we owe him something!” A deputy general said indignantly.
Meng Changye didn’t explain and simply pinned the struggling Emperor Chun to the ground to prevent him from getting hurt. Fortunately, Emperor Chun was weak and soon quieted down. He fell into a deep sleep, only to open his eyes the next moment.
The person who woke up this time was definitely his puppy. No one could imitate his puppy’s pitiful expression. Seeing this, Meng Changye’s previously fierce expression softened. He hugged and comforted the person in his arms, “You have a fever and just took the medicine. Go to sleep. Be good, close your eyes. When you wake up tomorrow, everything will be fine.”
You Shu was also well-versed in medicine, and naturally knew that his condition was critical. The medicine was secondary; the top priority was to cool down the fever. He smacked his lips, analyzing Liu Wen’s prescription from the lingering taste on his tongue. Finding no serious problems, he instructed his master, “The medicine is correct, but the dosage was a little light. You can add three grams of ephedra and artemisia annua, and two grams of bupleurum. Also, get some strong liquor to wipe my body, it will quickly dissipate the heat.”
Meng Changye, desperate for medical help, had no hesitation in asking his military advisor to prepare the medicine again. Liu Wen pondered this and realized that Emperor Chun was not lying. He truly knew his own illness like the back of his hand, which made him even more suspicious of the other party’s background and purpose.
Meng Changye fetched his treasured wine and wet a cloth to wipe the puppy’s body. The puppy was nearly burnt out, his once snow-white skin now showing an abnormal blush, with faint hints of pale blue veins peeking through. It resembled a piece of hibiscus jade, dazzlingly beautiful.
Not only Meng Changye was stunned for a moment, but even the deputy generals couldn’t help but steal a few glances.
“You bastards! What are you looking at! Turn around! Damn eunuch, come and draw the curtain for me!” Meng Changye was angry and anxious, his expression somewhat ferocious. The scar on his face made his expression look even more terrifying.
Chang Shun dared not disobey and hurried over to draw the curtain, causing the soldiers to retreat.
Inside the curtain, You Shu had been stripped naked, his body cushioned by the General’s dark outer robe. His body was scorching hot, and sensing the coolness of his master’s hands, he quickly grasped them and rubbed them against his body, raising his hips high and bending his legs, his long hair flowing like a devouring flower. What’s even more deadly was the pained moans he uttered, which sounded sweet to the ears.
Meng Changye had never witnessed such a sensual scene in his entire life, not even in his mid-twenties. The hazy dreams he’d had gradually overlapped with the rosy and wriggling youth before him, becoming clearer and more agitated. He immediately bent over, feeling as if a certain part of his body was about to burst out, yet he forced himself to suppress it.
When the boy’s temperature dropped, he looked like he’d just been pulled out from the lake. Not only the fabrics on his chest and back were soaked, but even his hair was dripping with water, and his cheeks and ears were a deep, purple red.
Using all his self-control, he put the young man’s clothes back on one by one. He then kissed him hard and said in a hoarse voice, “Damn it! You have to wipe yourself with strong liquor just for a fever! Are you deliberately trying to seduce me? When you recover, I’ll definitely take care of you, so you won’t even be able to cry!”
You Shu, already delirious with fever, heard his master’s voice in a daze, nodded habitually, and even hummed softly.
Meng Changye’s lower abdomen tightened, and he muttered a curse as he bent over again, sucking hard on the boy’s lips, reddened by the fever. He sucked for a quarter of an hour before releasing them reluctantly.
On the other side, Liu Wen had also finished brewing the medicine and passed it through the curtain. Hearing the general take a sip and then pressing his lips into the boy’s mouth, he couldn’t help but hold his forehead. This person truly refused to miss any opportunity to take advantage of people. After knowing him for so many years, he had never expected him to be such a general.
After tossing and turning for half the night, the two finally slept in each other’s arms. To protect the boy from the cold wind, Meng Changye unbuttoned his clothes and wrapped him tightly in his embrace, his long legs clamping around his lower body and his arms locking his upper body. To say it bluntly, if either of them died instantly in an accident, General Meng’s limbs would have to be sawed off to free the boy.
The next day, a piercing scream woke everyone up, even the birds on the nearby trees flew away in shock. Emperor Chun angrily slapped the general’s shoulder, “Meng Changye, you, you are even worse than a beast. How dare you disrespect me? Get your filthy thing away from me! It’s pressing against me!”
Meng Changye met a pair of bloodshot and murky eyes and immediately felt a wave of nausea. He quickly pushed the man away, but fearing he might fall and get hurt, he pulled him back up, laying him flat on his back.
Then, in a few steps, he leaped aside, cursing his bad luck. Damn it! When the puppy wakes up, we must immediately get rid of Emperor Chun’s soul. Otherwise, every time we lie down together, the person beside him will be replaced by someone else the next day. Who can stand this?
