Home/ There’s A Beauty / Chapter 103 (Part 1)
After hearing Liu Wen’s words, You Shu finally understood why he had inexplicably become the emperor of Jin Kingdom. He had inherited a Taoist inheritance, so he naturally knew how to expel the other soul from his body. He then picked up a piece of wood, asked his master for a dagger, and began to carve silently.
“What are you doing?” Liu Wen curiously leaned forward. But just as his head was about to touch the boy’s hair, his master forcefully pulled him away, nearly throwing him into the fire. Damn it, he’s truly bewitched by beauty. He’s not going to become another tyrant, is he?
Meng Changye paid no attention to his military advisor’s feelings. He rested his large head on the young man’s shoulder and asked in a voice as mellow as wine, “What are you doing? Why aren’t you in a hurry? Instead, you are wasting time carving wood.”
You Shu’s ears and cheeks flushed red from the breath sprayed out by his master. He couldn’t help but shrink his shoulders and whispered, “I plan to carve a wooden figurine, write Emperor Chun’s eight characters on it, and use soul transfer technique to expel his soul. You may not believe it, but this body is indeed mine, not Emperor Chun’s. He’s a wandering ghost from somewhere who has occupied my body.”
“Wait, wait, what did you say?” Liu Wen exclaimed before the general could react. That wasn’t what he’d meant to ask. He didn’t believe in gods or Buddhas, so naturally, he didn’t think of ghosts or monsters. His original intention was to tell the young man that he has a mental illness and needed to control it himself. But the boy’s reaction was far beyond common sense. It still would have been fine if he wasn’t surprised, but he actually picked up a random piece of wood and carved it into a figurine, claiming he wanted to expel another soul from his body? Are you really not crazy?
“Do you know Emperor Chun’s eight characters?” You Shu asked without answering.
“If you transfer Emperor Chun’s soul to this piece of wood, will he still be alive? The most important question is, do you really know what you’re doing?” Liu Wen reached out to stop him, looking deeply conflicted. As an atheist, his reaction is quite calm, right?
You Shu had always regarded his body as a temple, fiercely protective. However, unexpectedly, one day this temple was occupied by a wandering ghost, committing many heinous acts that made both heaven and people angry and resentful. How could he not be furious? The outside world’s criticism of Emperor Chun was also a criticism of him. Calling him cruel and inhumane would have been fine, but they also described him as stupid and incompetent .
You Shu never imagined the word “stupid” would be applied to him. It was a profound humiliation! In front of his master, he might be a devoted puppy, unwavering in his loyalty despite being beaten or scolded, but when it comes to others, he was very clear about gratitude and resentment, and would definitely seek revenge.
Emperor Chun had forcibly occupied his body, so why should he still care if he lived or died? He simply shook his head. “Wood is a dead thing; if I move the soul in it, it won’t live. I don’t understand how he got into my body, but one thing is certain: if he hadn’t taken over my body, he would have died long ago. So, why don’t I send him off?”
He looked up and stared straight at Liu Wen, his gaze still as clear as the sky, but his words carried a hint of cruelty, yet this cruelty was also tinged with a hint of innocence that was both chilling and captivating. Liu Wen didn’t dare meet his gaze, and instead turned to look at the general, only to see his eyes burning, his fists clenched, as if he were suppressing some intense emotions.
Meng Changye was truly captivated. He had assumed the puppy was timid and needed other people’s care, but in the end, he discovered that the puppy was only like that in front of him, and was exceptionally ruthless towards outsiders. Looking at him now, he looks so innocent and yet coldhearted. It is truly fascinating!
His heart was burning with uncontrollable excitement. He couldn’t help but reach out and pull the boy into his arms, giving him a loud kiss twice, one on the cheek, and the other directly on the lips.
He couldn’t help but burst into laughter as he watched the boy, who had been so arrogant and carefree just moments before, gradually blush, lower his head, shrink his shoulders, and burrow into his arms in embarrassment.
Oh my god, it turns out the general wasn’t joking; he actually fell in love with Emperor Chun! The soldiers were dumbfounded, some even turned away, unable to bear the sight. Although Emperor Chun is beautiful, his personality is truly difficult to serve! If the general had suppressed him, hit him, or scolded him, it would have been fine, but seeing the general holding him like a treasure, unwilling to let go, everyone couldn’t help but feel uneasy.
Several deputy generals repeatedly winked at the military advisor, but when they saw the other party waving his hands and looking helpless, they had to accept it for the time being.
Liu Wen would never believe that the young man could transfer souls. He even thought that this person was mentally ill and talking nonsense. Meng Changye, on the other hand, was overjoyed. He kissed him twice, then several times more.
Seeing the young man’s cheeks were covered in red marks from his rough and thick beard, he stopped and thought to himself that he would have to shave it off someday to avoid hurting his puppy.
“You damned eunuch, come here!” He stroked his ten-year-old beard and waved to Chang Shun, who was squatting in the distance.
Chang Shun ran over, trembling with fear. “General, do you have any instructions?”
“Do you know Emperor Chun’s eight characters?”
Chang Shun, having served Emperor Chun since childhood, knew it well. Although he felt it was a little inappropriate, he dared not disobey and obediently reported everything. You Shu immediately memorized it, then put down the half-carved wooden figurine and asked Liu Wen for the four treasures of the study.
“Wow, your handwriting is truly beautiful. You must have practiced calligraphy for over a decade, right?” The admiration was fake, but the probing was real.
What did it mean to be possessed by a lonely soul or some wandering ghost, and wake up to find the kingdom destroyed? If this body had been occupied by Emperor Chun since childhood, then “he” would have been isolated from the world for over a decade, and should have been an ignorant child. How could “he” have known how to write or read pictures?
Liu Wen initially believed that “he” and Emperor Chun were two different people, but after he came up with the so-called “one body, two souls” explanation, he didn’t believe it anymore. He wanted to see what Emperor Chun was up to.
Although Meng Changye didn’t know how to read and write, his brain was more clever than the military advisor’s. If the military advisor could see the flaw, how could he not see it? But it didn’t matter. As long as the boy could always be his puppy, he could tolerate anything. If it were Emperor Chun, he would have slapped him to death long ago.
You Shu wrote down the materials needed to make the soul-transfer talisman on a piece of paper and asked his master to help him collect them. He was determined to expel the wild ghost from his body and burn it in the fire.
“What does this say? Can you read it to me?” Meng Changye stared at the paper, dumbfounded.
You Shu was stunned. “You can’t read?”
Meng Changye’s face turned red when he saw the boy looking at him incredulously. Fortunately, he had a big beard to cover it up and didn’t show any embarrassment. He stuttered and said, “I know a few words, but if it’s too complicated, I find it a bit difficult. You know, I’ve been wandering with beggars since I was young, and later became a bandit. Eventually, I joined the army and had no chance to study?”
“That makes sense. Given your situation, you really didn’t have the chance to learn to read,” You Shu said with some distress. “But it doesn’t matter. I’ll teach you later. You’ll be emperor one day, issuing decrees and reviewing memorials. You will make a fool of yourself if you don’t know how to read and write. You’re so smart, you’ll definitely learn it quickly.”
Normally, Liu Wen had always urged the general to study and practice calligraphy, but he’d come up with all sorts of excuses, as if studying and writing were the most painful thing in the world. But now, the moment Emperor Chun opened his mouth, the general actually agreed, his expression beaming with joy. It was truly annoying to watch.
Liu Wen felt resentful in his heart, but secretly nodded in agreement. As the saying goes, “Brine sets tofu, and one thing subdues another.” When the general got stubborn, even ten oxen couldn’t pull him back. Emperor Chun, on the other hand, only needed to wave his hand, and the general would run over to learn.
As long as Emperor Chun could teach the general to read and write, they would spare his life. With no women in the army, cases of homosexuals often occur. It’s not uncommon to keep a male pet, so Liu Wen and the others wouldn’t stop them. Furthermore, Emperor Chun, once the almighty ruler of a nation, now found himself subservient to the general. This was strangely refreshing.
Meng Changye handed the list to his subordinate, ordering him to go buy everything the next morning. Then, pulling the young man into his arms, he whispered, “Why don’t you teach me how to read now?”
“Okay, bring me the brush, ink, paper, and inkstone.” You Shu sat between his legs, feeling a hard object pressing against his buttocks, his ears turning redder, almost dripping blood.
“The army has a limited supply of brushes, ink, paper, and inkstones. It’s a waste to ruin them. Just use a stick and write on the ground. Teach me one by one,” Meng Changye said as he picked up a wooden stick and scratched a few lines on the ground.
You Shu thought about it and took the stick, “This method is good and more economical. Can you write your own name? If not, I’ll teach you that first. If you can, I’ll start with the Three Character Classic.”
Meng Changye, who already knew how to write his own name, shamelessly shook his head under the gaze of the deputy generals. “I can’t, you write it for me. Write your own name too. I want to learn.”
“Of course.” You Shu’s lips curled up, then he wrote both names neatly on the ground and circled them in a heart shape. His master from his previous life would have known this was a disguised confession of love, a metaphor for their everlasting love. However, Meng Changye, with his bold and rough personality, seemed oblivious, immersed in his study.
“What does this mean?” He pointed at the heart shape circling the names, his eyes flickering slightly. Don’t think he’s just a rough guy and easy to fool; it looks like a heart at first glance! What does the puppy really want to do? Seducing him in front of everyone? It’s a bit provocative!
However, despite his inner complaints, he felt extremely pleased, yet he pretended to be clueless. Compared to him, Liu Wen and the others were truly clueless, naturally assuming it was just a few random strokes made by Emperor Chun.
“No, it doesn’t mean anything. I just wanted you to pay attention to the words in the circle.” You Shu’s cheeks immediately turned red, and he quickly crossed out his name with a branch.
“Why did you cross it out? I didn’t see it clearly. Write it again.” Meng Changye laughed inwardly, but he remained serious on the surface.
You Shu had no choice but to rewrite it, but he dared not draw the heart shape again. However, his master was extremely clueless in this life. “Ji Youshu” and “Meng Changye”— it’s just four words— his master couldn’t even learn them after studying them for over half an hour. He had to grasp the other party’s wrist and teach him stroke by stroke.
Liu Wen sat at a distance with several deputy generals, shaking his head inwardly: Shameless, truly shameless!
Is it difficult to learn how to deploy troops? Some people spend their entire lives studying and still only have a superficial understanding, but the general can draw inferences from one instance—his intelligence is really terrifying!
However, when it came to Emperor Chun, he looked completely stupid. Four words—no, two of them—his own name, which he’d known long ago, yet he’d spent nearly an hour pondering them. This was clearly taking advantage of Emperor Chun!
They saw the general spread his legs apart and place the young man between his legs, his two strong arms clamping him like iron pliers, his beard rubbing his cheeks, ears, and neck, then occasionally pinching his waist, thighs, and wrists.
Seeing him happily eating tofu, everyone felt their vision go dark. Thinking back to the time when the enemy had sent several stunning beauties and yet failed to seduce the general, how could he have suddenly become like this, so, so… indescribable?
Liu Wen held his forehead and sighed inwardly, thinking that the beauty really corrupts people.
